The trailer for the remake of Firestarter is here. Firestarter is a remake of the 1984 Firestarter movie that starred Drew Barrymore. It’s inspired by the Stephen King novel Firestarter. It’s coming out May 13, 2022 in Theaters & Streaming on Peacock TV
I’m a huge fan of Stephen King and have been very happy with the last few years of his work being EVERYWHERE. From his books , TV Shows , & Movies it’s been great seeing people really appreciating his work. I’ve seen some people complaining oh just another remake. Well considering the original movie is from 1984 & wasn’t well received I think it’s more than okay to remake it. I mean it got 37% on Tomatometer & 53% Audience Score . I think with todays special effects this is a perfect candidate for the Blumhouse treatment. A low budget horror movie that gets a chance to tell a tale that wasn’t done that great the first time around.
The really exciting news is that the music is going to be composed by John Carpenter , Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies. So at least the music will be top grade. Plus Zac Efron is a solid choice as the dad. If you don’t believe me check out Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. Seriously check it out his take on Ted Bundy was perfect it’s on Netflix. The star of the movie though is Ryan Kiera Armstrong (IT Chapter Two, “American Horror Story”) as Charlie and as you seen in IT Chapter Two I think she will do a fine job. I can’t wait to see what director Keith Thomas (The Vigil) has in store for us. Screenplay is from Scott Teems (Halloween Kills). So what do you think of this trailer?
